“U.S. Climate Action: A Global Economic Perspective” Symposium
The purpose of the Symposium was to convene a small group, including Members of Congress, State Governors, Members of New Administration, invited Presidents and Ministers of State, CEOs, distinguished US and global economists, scientists and international climate leaders for a private discussion about how to advance U.S. actions to address climate change in light of the current global context and the upcoming climate change negotiations in December 2009. In particular, the conversation focused on the economic opportunities associated with the U.S. response to addressing climate change, such as the role of applied science, new technologies, new business models, new policies and job growth, in addition to exploring the economic costs of action and how to manage them.
