LuccMe (Land Use and Cover Change) open source framework officially released at the Global Land Project workshop in Brazil

Nov 17 2011

LuccME is an open source framework for spatially explicit Land Use and Cover Change (LUCC) modeling developed by the Earth System Science Center (CCST) and collaborators, built on top of TerraME as an extension. Using LuccME the modeler can easily create deforestation, agricultural expansion, desertification, forest degradation, urban spraw models and other LUCC process models at different scales and areas of study, combining existing model components and/or creating new ones. LuccME was officially released on November 18th, 2011, during the GLP Land Use Transitions in South America: framing the present, preparing for a sustainable future Workshop.

LuccME has been developed by Earth System Science Center (CCST), at INPE. It has been funded by FAPESP Climate Chamge Program (LUA Project), INCT for Climate Change and by the Planetary Skin Institute.
